GAME SUMMARIES

Game 27

In the last conference game of the season, the Jays hosted the Patriots from Truman.  The Jays had already locked up at least a share of the Conference Title, but could win it outright with a win over Truman.  The Jays jumped on them early and led 5-0 through 4 innings.  Truman stormed back with 2 in the 5th and 3 in the 6th to pull within one.  The Patriots tied it in the 7th and the Jays couldn't answer so it went to extra innings! Truman pulled ahead in the 8th only to have the Jays tie it up in the bottom of the 8th! Brooke Niemeier held the Patriots scoreless in the 9th and left the door open for the Jays to walk it off in the 9th.  Singles by Jenna Brewer, Brooke Niemeier and Ashton Maloney loaded the bases for Raeli Howerton.  Howerton singled and the Jays walked off as Outright Conference Champions! Back to back Conference Titles for the Jays.  The Jays finished the conference schedule 9-1 and improved their overall record to 22-5.
